The Chiron Mini IFAK was designed to answer SF operators' demand for a quick extraction mini IFAK, engineered to perform at its best when worn in the lumbar zone of the combat belt.
Keeping things simple and effective into this project required our utmost effort. The result is a design structured to make reaching the medical equipment in case of emergency quick and easy: just grab the ITW Nexus® D-ring and take out the insert, which unfolds to show the content.
The extractable insert, entirely made of LAHYCO, features two proprietary MPO (Multi Purpose Organizers) panels, which not only offer a significant weight reduction, but also endless customization possibilities, breaking the static concept of classical medical pouches. The content, the placement and the retention method are fully customizable to better suit the operator’s needs. Just as an example here is a list of the medical items that can fit in the pouch: HyFin® Vent Chest Seal Twin Pack, ARS® Needle Decompression Kit, Nasopharyngeal Airway 28F with Lubricant, Trauma Shears, Compressed Gauze, Mini Compression Bandage, WoundClot™, Nitrile gloves.
Both the vertical and horizontal Multi Purpose Organizers come with Velcro® Ultra-Mate® hook backing that allows the user to swap them or attach them to another platform equipped with Velcro® loop fastening.
The back made of thick plastic technopolymer, together with MIL-W-5664 or Woven type elasticized band, ensures inherently conforming compression of the content, reducing the size of the pouch to its minimum.
The laser cut Medical Designation allows the user to pick the color based on the circumstances, switching the insert from Hi-Vis to IR or Reflective, while the front Velcro® Velour permits to apply a blood type patch, an allergy alert patch, or any other useful sign.
Because we wanted to minimize the size of the pouch and since most of the operators carry the tourniquet in the front of the belt, it does not feature any specific retention system for it. If required, the Chiron Mini IFAK can optionally be equipped with the Velcro Elastic CAT Tourniquet Holder.
